Fat percentage in food: acceptable level?

    Along with low carbs, what is the acceptable fat percentage I should be looking for?
    Thanks, all you involved poeple.
    I discovered Friskies in the 13 oz. can - whew- what a saving. i never knew cat food came in that size.

    In theory, values up to 70% of calories are supposed to be considered acceptable (according to the experts).

    In practice, I think it's smart to limit fat to about 50% of calories or less, based on the data from prey animals. Some cats don't react well to fat at all, and those cats may need even lower levels of fat (say 35% or less), even if that means a higher carbohydrate level.

    Don't get too upset about the fact that cats need more fat than humans.

    A 'high' amount of fat is OK for cats....not so for us over-weight humans, eh ?

    I have struggled with almost underweight all my life so I can't relate. Getting harder to find petite sizes!!
