Food allergies

What flavor foods is it that some cats will get skin allergies. Beef?

 

My vet says beef and fish are pretty high up there though often in articles I see other ingredients as more prevalent.

 

Do you recall what ingredients? Wheat gluten is one, right?

 

The most common food allergens are fish, beef, gluten and grains. Don't forget that there are seasonal allergies and contact allergies too.

The most common skin allergies are flea related.

 

Venita, what kinds of signs are you seeing that you believe are skin allergic reactions?

My Ketchie chews at herself and licks a lot, but she has the disease Hyperesthesia, and that is common in these cats to have allergies, or just be prone to having skin irritations.

I'd add soy to the list of common allergens.
