I am dealing with diabetes and beginning of kidney. Can anyone tell me the cheap foods that are safe to feed to address both issues? I read that relion is discontinuing some meters and test strips. What is the go to cheap replacement?

You'll want a food low in phosphorus under 250 (under 200 is best) and low carb. Check the food chart. Unfortunately not a lot of cheap choices.

I'm sure there are cheaper meteres, but I use an Alphatrak pet meter with freestyle insulinx strips. The strips are $30/100 on amazon.
