    Welcome to FDMB.
Diabetes is a manageable disease if you are willing to put in some effort.
What insulin, food, and home testing are you doing?

Since you're not using insulin yet, get the food change to low carb canned or raw accomplished for all the cats (its pretty impossible to feed 1 separately). Switch about 20-25% per day. You do not need the expensive prescription diet.
No kibble. Pop over to Cat Info for more detailed feline nutrition info.
For insulin, the ones which last about 12 hours in the cat are ProZinc, Levemir, Lantus, and BCP PZI. For Lantus and Levemir, we suggest buying from Canada if you are in the US as the prices are much lower, even with shipping.

Welcome Liliana! What is your kitty's name and age? I have 6 cats so I can relate to the madness of trying to feed one differently, don't even try. Lol. Because they're already eating canned food, you've got a bit of a head start.

Hi Liliana and Foxie and welcome! :)

We have 6 cats here too, so I can completely relate to the problem of different food requirements for different cats who all want to eat out of the same bowl (we have one with CKD and one diabetic so it's a little more complicated for us but still possible to find a food that works for all of them). The good news is that the Friskies Classic Pates (which it looks as though you're already feeding) are already in the high protein, low carb category so you might not have too much of a problem with having to switch out their food. The only one that is a little over on the carb count is the Mixed Grill flavor. :)

    Thank you for advice.
Today is the first day and I'm exhausted .
I trust my vet and hope this will work.
Maybe this is a temporary situation and good diabetic diet will be sufficient .
She got her first shot today.
    This forum is so nice
