I'm in florida and there is a hurricane in the Atlantic which got me thinking about power outages. I know when Wilma hit we were without power for 2 weeks. I am thinking about ordering some of these. This might be a good idea to always have on hand.
http://www.frioinsulincoolingcase.com/how-the-frio-insulin-cooling-case-works.html I don't know if they will be here in time. God forbid our power goes out, does anyone know how long I can keep the insulin unrefrigerated. This vial has been in use since june.

They say the Frio will keep it cool for 48 hours in 100 degree heat.....you can always buy a small cooler that you can put some ice into for longer periods (although I know if there's a bad storm, finding ice may not be easy)

Just make sure if you use ice that the insulin doesn't rest directly on the ice....make sure it's insulated from touching it...you don't want it to freeze

I love my Frio....but I just use it when I take my mom to Branson (and China goes with us) and once we get there, there's a refrigerator in the hotel room

I've got the Frio. Last time I went on holiday, I bought Lantus over the counter and brought it back in that. Worked very well. I am using the insulin I bought back now and it appears to be good.

I am going to try to get one.

Another Frio fan here.

The kitchen at my former abode was like a furnace in the summer and I had a banjaxed fridge. First up, I bought a small battery-operated fridge for the storage of Saoirse's insulin. Subsequently I bought a Frio pouch. The Frio pouch worked w-a-a-a-a-y better. Highly recommend the Frio solution.

I'm going to get a frio for sure lucky we didn't need one yet, but I didn't know there was a battery operated fridge, that sound like a good idea.
