Coco and I just got back from a fructosamine test. The vet, who has a lot experience with sugar cats, said it came back technically within normal range but far higher than he would like. She was at 320 and he wants to see her in the 200-250 range. He asked me to test twice a day for a week and recommended wet food with lower carb content than she is currently eating. I'll send him the spreadsheet in a week and we'll go from there. Heading to the pet food store with my list. And ultimately if diet alone doesn't keep her BG in a good place, then we'll add insulin. I'm a little disheartened, but it's certainly not the end of the world.

The numbers look good, hopefully low carb food will do the trick for Coco.

Thanks, all! After reading up on fructosamine values, I'm not nearly as worried. I had just assumed the values would be the same as BG. So much to learn with feline diabetes.
