Kitties All--

Let's gather together, sugars and civvies, for the Full Strawberry Moon! Of course there will be traditional favorites as purrpared by my mentor, Chef Rusty, and the Kitchen Krews of yore at Strawberry Moons past:

Appetizers: Strawberry Mojitos; Strawberry Sangria; Assorted Adirondack Microbrews; Strawberry Margaritas; Assorted Paw Prints Pizzas: Pink Shrimp in Crunchy Nip Wontons; Pickled Duck Eggs; Sushi Bar manned by L&LL Sushi Chef Tux featuring fresh-caught Lake Fish.
Entrees: Grilled Lake Trout; Grilled Wild Turkey Sausages with Strawberry Garnish; Mousehead Ragout; Chef Rusty's Thunderin' Bison Chili with Fresh Strawberry Salsa; Chef Mannie's Renowned PNW Poached Sockeye Salmon with Nip Mayo; Big Mac's Burger Extravaganza with The Works; Grilled Michigans.
Salads: Butthead's & Donny's Adirondack Field Greens with Chef Felix's Crunchy Strawberry dressing; Confetti Slaw.
Desserts: Maggie's Signature Cheesecakes with Fresh Strawberries; Tobey's Cimmamum Cookies; Strawberry- Rhubarb Pie a la Chief Pastry Chef Tess; Surprise Strawberry Dessert à la Dessert Chef Sootie; Strawberry Icecream Cake; Chef Stu's World Famous Catmint Parfaits.
Newer traditions include Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles, Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers, Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles, TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip, PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls, and Chef Felix's Mediterranean platter with crunchy falafel, mewli-tabouli (with catnip instead of parsley), and smoked papurrika hummouse. You'll find Bella's Catinis at the Tiki Hut.

If you're not quite feeline up for feasting and dancing the night away, then Taster Blanket Coordinator Idjit, Taster-Kitchen Liaison Roxi, Taster Blanket Greeter Olive, and their helpers will find you a comfy spot on the Taster Blankets for quieter festivities and lighter fare. It's a purrfect place to view the Circle of Remembrance at midnight, when the veil thins and we can purrceive our loved ones who have Gone Ahead partying with us.

My momma got me a new apron for the Strawberry Moon! She says it's a classic pattern called "Strawberry Thief"; I just know it has birdies on it and birdies are interesting.

Party down with your purring selves!
Chef Felix

Last year's Strawberry Moon was the last party my beloved mentor Chef Rusty hosted for us before joining the celestial chefs at the Bridge. Leading up to that time, Rusty purrmoted me from a simple Crunchy Crouton Specialist to Kitchen Krew Chief, and I worked in the background learning our Kitchen's ways so that, when the time came, I would be ready to step into Chef Rusty's role.

Now I would like to add a Kitchen Krew Chief, someone to learn the Kitchen opurrations and, someday, to host our Full Moon parties. I am feeline purrty well, but I find that I'd like to focus on what's really impurrtant to me--baking croutons--and I may also need to be taking more breaks on the Taster Blankets.

Please consider becoming Kitchen Krew Chief. It's OK if you aren't already on the Kitchen Krew; we'll train you. And please note there's always as much dancing and feasting and good fellowship in the Kitchen as anywhere!

Thank you, Kitties!
Chef Felix

Full Strawberry Moon sounds so wonderful! Idjit just ran upstairs to get his shiny dancing shoes out and polished up. He loves his duties at the Taster Blanket helping keep our friends that might not be feeling well warm, fed, happy and comfortable. He loves to help, he loves to dance and sample all the goodies, but the best part is the Circle of Remembrance to send love to the ones that are waiting for us on the other side of the Veil.

Luci is off somewhere trying to find a better color outfit to wear tonight - she had such a nice day surfing around in the lagoon - then decided to make a break for it and hit that really high part of that hideous pink tree...silly girl! She decided this evening when I called her for the PM test to hide behind the sofa - but when she was encouraged to come out she was all purry - yes, I know she got me once again! The Queen was then carried to her testing area - sheesh...now she's off in her dressing room and will not be disturbed until she's good and ready. I'm exhausted so she'll be on her own tonight - I think based on the going's on around here she may be bringing a vat of chipmunk stew - but that's what's afoot lately - and she's wild about capturing a few of them fresh - for the stew - ugh - I'm sure there are other kitties there who'll enjoy the fresh game .... Have a wonderful evening everyone - enjoy the yummy treats and all the dancing - and especially the Circle when the veil is lifted - sending my regards to my GA's - Miss Puss, Sam and Mr. E. Love and miss them all. :cat:

What an awesome menu, Chef Felix prepared for all of us. Love your new apron! Katie said she enjoyed all the festivities, and especially her big sis's Maggie's Signature Cheesecakes with strawberries. Wow with the new traditions, too. The Circle of Remembrance was so beautiful. Thank you Chef Felix.

Luna has just whispered that she would be happy to join the Krew if a civvie is allowed to be on the team because she's grown up with a diabetic cat in the house so she knows how to make low carb food. She's not sure about being a Chief because she's only really a baby yet, but she'd be happy to help with whatever is needed to help keep all our sugar cats well-fed and happy.

That is so nice of Luna! All the kitties in your family are such hard workers--they do so much for the parties, and it sounds like they keep busy at home, too.;) Felix has always been impressed with Roxi's Taster-Kitchen Liaison work; she was even the inspiration for the first Taster Blanket! And of course you have dear ones on both sides of the veil during the Circles of Remembrance. Felix will be so relieved knowing he has another member of such a kindly and responsible family to back him up and to help ensure a bright future for the FDMB festivities, purrticularly the Full Moon parties. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Purr-purr-purr-purr-purr.

Luna's gone all shy now at your kind words. :bighug: As has Roxi. :bighug: We do have a little team of helpers in our house - they all like to be involved in everything. And they're all very happy that they're able to help and are doing a good job. Luna says she'll get herself all ready for the next party so she can take on any duties Felix would like to assign to her. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
