FYI:cost comparison/recommendation of insulin

    This web site link doesn't mention the Lantus and Levemir Pens (written 2013). Poking around on this Forum I have found cost comparisons show Lantus and Levemir Pens, if purchased from Canada, seem to be reasonably priced considering the pens can be used for several months.

    Unfortunately, that article is old. Not only have insulin costs risen in the last 5 years, but today we also have other insulins/brands besides those listed to choose from. :)

    To complicate the issue, insulin prices vary. Prices often vary by region and pharmacies across the street from each other can have different prices... one much more than the other. Vets will often also set their own prices for insulin. Canadian pharmacies usually offer the best prices on "human" insulins.

    It pays to shop around for the best prices every time you need new insulin!
