I wish I found this website earlier! Our cat was diagnosed a couple of months ago with Diabetes and recently showing signs of remission. HE was on Prozinc 5 units AM and PM (up 1 unit each week until controlled). While we trying to control diabetes he was pooping (not urinating outside of litter box). Once he was under control with Prozinc, he started pooping back in litter box.

Recently he had a very low episode (30), and since that time his numbers in AM and PM have been under 150 for 4 days. Per vet, we have not been giving insulin. He is again pooping outside of litter box. Not every time, but every few times. Any ideas? Anyone have this happen?

It's rare but there have been other cases of a hypo episode putting the kitty into remission. It seems you're testing at home so you can track his progress. If you set up the spreadsheet we use here and enter all your data we can help you decipher patterns and give advice regarding dosing (or no dose) going forward. The recommended approach here is to taper off insulin slowly to get a good remission. Your kitty is on a high dose and you need guidance about reducing from 5 u to whatever much smaller dose he might need right now.
