first of all. Thank you all again for all the information that is on that forum. This place is truly amazing.
Doctor visit 7/28 -diabletes diagnosis. Sugar -504
Immediately cut out all dry food and began glucose testing.
7/31 sugar-336
8/2 sugar-335
8/5 sugar-307
8/9 sugar-158

I have not started insulin. I wanted to take a shot and try to get this under control without the shots first. I think it is moving in the right direction. I know I am by no means out of the woods what so ever. But I am keeping the faith and thinking positive.

One other change that has occurred with belle is her fur. Before the vet visit her fur was full of dandruff and she was shedding like crazy. I just figured it was because of the time of the year. But vet told me that could also be a result of the diabetes? Opinions on that ? But now she almost has no dandruff and is shedding very little and her fur and coat look much better.

I look forward to any opinions or advice on where I should go from here? Or just keep on doing what I'm doing.(strict diet and testing). Thank you all for all your input and fantastic advice. I love these boards.

Your BG results from the diet change are looking very encouraging. The changes in the coat are also a sign the diet change is working wonders. Diabetics often have dandruff, excessive shedding and rusting on dark coats. The difference when BG is regulated can be quite remarkable.

If you are using a human meter she is just above the top of normal range right now. With a pet meter she's in the upper normal range. With the BG dropping that much in 4 days, I'd give it a few more days before making a decision about any additional treatment. You may be one of the lucky souls whose cat can be diet controlled. Fingers crossed! :D

Agree with Linda, Belle is heading in the right direction!
Well done, keep feeding Belle very low carb wet food and you might be able to clear her diabetes!
Keeping my fingers crossed,
Marlena
