My Lilly's numbers have been literally bouncing all over the place since a low point about 2 weeks ago. I've been so confused about her numbers and have had to skip or adjust doses. The vet is just as confused and is referring me to an internist/specialist. For now, though, need some advice about best dose to give tonight. She's at 147 (AT2) PMPS. Vet recommended 1 unit, but I'm concerned about her dropping too low. Two nights ago when I shot at this number she dropped down to about 70 within +2 and I couldn't stay up to monitor. I plan to stall up to an hour and re-check to see if she's going up. Thoughts?!

Don't feed her and test again in 20 minutes

Since her number is going up, I'd go ahead and shoot....I'd try .5 tonight

45 mins later she's at 167. BUT I had to give some freeze dried chicken treats AND it took me three test strips to get and she was growling a little -- so idk if that rise is due to stress.

No...it takes time for any food to break down and get into the bloodstream and freeze dried chicken is pure protein so shouldn't effect it much in the first place.

I'd go ahead and try the .5 tonight and get a +2

The 70 you got the other night isn't "too low", but it's getting close......but as long as you have medium and high carb foods, you're in control of her blood glucose! That's why we test!
