? How much food before shots

    What is considered enough food before giving them their shot?

    We usually do not give any food 2 hours before their shoot, so that the test is not food influenced, before that what ever his usual amount is is ok.

    After you tested if his numbers are ok (not too low to shoot which means you may have to stall or something , post here to ask ) you can then feed shoot, or shoot feed

    Lantus is slow in onset so he doesn't have to eat a full meal before his shot. A tablespoon or so should do. If you can be fairly sure he'll eat decently in the 2-3 hours after his shot it's probably safe to give insulin.
