Howdy from Texas ! ~meow~~ Fred

2 days in remission! Howdy y'all! Fred was dx in Feb. Treated with Lantus. It seems his pancreatitis attack last month jump started his run down the dosing scale. Eats Friskies pates. Fred is enjoying the sun on our condo balcony....chatting it up with the birds.
I'm having a hard time getting used to not poking him ! I figure will test once a week for 4 weeks, then once a month....does that sound about right?

I still test once a week - I probably always will, except if we happen to be out of town for longer than a week. But that's because I don't trust my little troublemaker at all! After the first month, where you test weekly, it is actually fine to drop the testing back to once a month.

Congrats again to you and Fred! Best feeling ever isn't it?

 

Congrats and welcome to the club! I was still testing daily or almost every day for a few weeks because CJ is on steroids. But I could have tested less often. Now I am testing weekly and plan on keeping it that way but I don't stick to a strict schedule. I do try to stick to the same feeding schedule.

I just decided this week to test weekly instead of every other day. I will eventually go to once a month I think, but if Spaz is going to go out of remission I would like to know right away so might continue with weekly testing in the long run.
