    ura 019.jpg Hi Everyone,
My name is Kim and my girl Tulip was diagnosed Feb 25/17 with diabetes, she is born Nov 11/05, she is 11 years and 4 months old.

Tulip is getting 1 unit of insulin twice a day and this Sunday, March 19/17 we do her first CURVE, wish us luck!

I have attached a pic of my little Dutch girl with her sister Munchkin to her left and brother 2Bad to her right.

What a great name for a very cute kittie! Good luck with the curve. I had Leo's first curve done at the vets because I didn't at the time even know how to do the injections. Me and Leo are new here too and I'm still very nervous about all of it. I got my kit for testing but have only done one test so far. He hates, hates, hates having his ears touched. Working on desensitizing his ears right now.

    Hi Lillie,
I am going to try doing the Curve testing on her paws. I was told to use the biggest pads on her paws for testing.
I figure it is worth a try and I don't want her ears to be stained from the blood.

Would love to see a pic of Leo

My computer is on its last leg right now so as soon as I get a new one I will post a pic. He is a Turkish Van breed (found him at a shelter-can't believe it) and is (or was) a very large boy. Mostly white long hair with the typical V mark on the head and fuzzy cream colored tail. Your three kitties are absolutely beautiful. Looks like they love each other. I wish Leo had a house mate but the expense of one is already getting pretty high with his diabetes and IBD.

My 3 are from the same litter so I do have a concern that the other 2 maybe already or might become diabetic and I just can't afford to have them tested at this time
The cost is overwhelming. Since Tulip was diagnosed I have already spent $625.00 on supplies and insulin.

Lovely kitties!! :) You'll get the most insulin specific help if you post on the Lantus and Levemir forum. If you have general questions about how to save money while treating Tulip you can ask on the main health forum.

I've tallied up about $1,400.00 so far which includes his initial visit to his specialist. Oh my- these are pricey cats!
