I have been giving my guy his shots about midway down his back. Not the scruff, more towards the tail.

However, he has been bulking up and the shots are hurting him. Today I gave him his shot in lose skin just forward of his back hip. Not the flank, but back almost to the leg and high on the side.

Should I expect anything noticeable? Is that going to affect his numbers?

    Thanks

Sometimes absorbtion will be different in different spots. That is one thing that my vet asked when we were trying to figure out our insulin resistance, making sure we were moving our shot location around. If his current shot location is hurting him, it is probably a good thing to try a new spot, the shot shouldn't hurt.
