Hi Jack and Jack's Mom, welcome to FDMB.

I'm not sure I understand everything in your introductory post, but let me try to recap.

Jack is diabetic, was on Vetsulin and had a critical hypo event. Changed from One Touch Meter to a ReliOn meter to measure blood glucose.

Is Jack on any insulin right now? Is that the N? (Novolin?) with what fixed dose, and what is your sliding scale now?

    Did I get that right?

To make things much easier for all the members to see and understand please create a signature of current information on Jack. If there is room you can add some previous info like Vetsulin to Novolin, so people know there was another insulin involved. There is only so much space allowed for a signature and we also like to see a spreadsheet link there too, so we can see both insulin and testing data right away.

    1. Setting up your signature (light grey text under a post). Here's how:
click on your name in the upper right corner of this page
click on "signature" in the menu that drops down
type the following in the box that opens: kitty's name/age/date of diabetes diagnosis/insulin you're using and dosage amount /glucose meter you're using/what (s)he eats/any other meds or health issues (s)he has. You can add your name, and a geographic location (sometimes the country/time zone matters) Be sure to SAVE when you are finished.
    2. Another thing that will help us help you since you are already BG testing at home is to set up a spreadsheet like the one we use here. You will see how the trends and patterns emerge, and members can review his/her progress before offering suggestions or advice:

Of course, as soon as we can see exactly what is going on, we can get more information in the appropriate forum(s) and get some experienced members advising and helping.
