Lantus pen users....do you keep your pen in the refrigerator after you start using it? I read it’s not necessary And the vet told me the same BUT the pharmacist told us to keep it in the fridge while we use it since we keep it for over 30 days....

Are you using a pen or are you using the cartridge that is inside the pen and drawing the insulin up with a syringe?

If you keep the insulin in the fridge it will last for up to 6 months.

The pens were developed for humans who may be traveling. Since humans use considerably more insulin than a kitty , there isn't a requirement that the pens be refrigerated (hence the instructions to only. use for 28 days). Keeping the pen refrigerated will extend the life of your insulin and keep the pen mechanism working well.
