Good evening everyone! My kitty Cubby seems to be doing much better lately. I've only been giving him his 1u if his pre test is >100. That has eluded to just 1u per day lately. Just wondering if it would be wise to try .5u instead of 1u. Any advise would be welcome. His spreadsheet is up to date. Thank you in advance!!:)

I think you should try a few days with no insulin and see what happens. I have a feeling Cubby doesn't need insulin anymore. If he goes over 120, then post and ask for some of us to take a look.

Oh wow really? I feel like it happened so fast but still isn't quite consistant yet. It hasn't been a week. Is that normal? He was 275 for his PMPS just 6 days ago.

You'll need to keep testing, because it's possible that he'll go back up a bit, and if so, then we'll need to talk about some mini-doses. But honestly, I'd be surprised if he isn't going a little hypo on that one unit - can't be sure without those mid-cycles, but my hunch is that's too much insulin on those low numbers.

A large number of kitties go into remission very quickly. My kitty went into remission in three weeks for his first diagnosis. Typically we say you need to test daily for two weeks of no shots, and if his numbers stay low throughout, then you can declare him OTJ (and then we all celebrate!)
