Hello! Just a quick question about canned foods listed in the low phosphorus food chart at www.catinfo.org. I understand that the chart is no longer being updated. So my problem is that a number of the foods listed that are both low carb and low phosphorus have been discontinued. How can I go about getting the info from manufacturers? I apologize as I know this has been discussed before, but I was unable to find those posts when I searched the forum. Thanks in advance for the help!

I think the easiest thing to do is just call . I usually have pretty good luck that way ..

I have this list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E_HZnTcJdsr20Gpivo2ID1KQ9wlZAe1Xy3LDTDVRofU/edit?usp=sharing It may not cover every possible food out there, but it's one I put together from the catinfo list and checking to see what is currently available. I have just updated it to remove a Eukanuba product as it seems they're now only making dog food. I changed up the way the numbers are shown compared to most of the lists I found so that it shows the info the way us owners of diabetic cats who also need low phosphorus food need to see it - carbs as a % of calories and phosphorus as dry matter %. I kept it to under 1% phosphorus as dry matter because that was what I was told to do by our vet as a maximum, so if you have similar instructions there should hopefully be something on there that will work. :)

Love it! I wanted to add that there are some additional Weruva varieties that aren't listed on the spreadsheet, most notably the Truluxe line. Weruva actually provides all of their super detailed nutrition information online. http://www.weruva.com/truluxe-nutrition.php

Tiki Cat also provides detailed nutrition online. It is worth noting that all of the Tiki Cat food is 0% carbs. Some cats do better when they receive a small percentage of carbs rather than zero carbs. http://www.tikipets.com/petropics-nutrition-facts/

More Weruva links for convenience as each line has their own nutrition page:

Thank you for all the great info and links. Yes, Benjamin actually does better with 4%-6% carbs so I don't use the Tiki Cat food. He gets a variety of foods now that he has become pickier in his old age.

Cindy, I just noticed you live really near me - I'm in Covington, so only just down the road! :)

Thank you - I will do some more research on these ones and add them to my list. :) I'm always looking for new options...it seems I just get our picky kitties settled on a few flavors, then they get bored and I have to find them something different so the more options I have, the better!

Oh, wow, we do live really close! I live right outside of Covington but my address is Kent because I am in the unincorporated area.

That really is close - I just had to ask my husband where the unincorporated area is as I've only been here a little over 2 years (from the UK) so my in-depth knowledge of the area is still sadly lacking! And of course the Kent/Covington thing with the zip codes being the same confuses a lot of websites anyway which doesn't help me learn at all! It always surprises me to find someone close by on here as we often seem to finish up talking to people on the other side of the country - or even the world!

I agree! This area is very confusing! I've been here 16 years (from the Midwest) and I still need to use my GPS to get around lots of places.

I'm so glad it's not just me - I really do feel like I must be a very slow learner sometimes when I can find my way to Seattle, Federal Way, Puyallup and Tacoma no problem but I still need a GPS to make it 5 miles in the local area!
