    MEMORIAL DAY.JPG

We honor all who lost their lives
while serving in the armed forces...

This coming weekend is a three day holiday weekend in the USA. Quite a few of our members will kick off the summer season with picnics, pool parties, barbecues, weekend get-a-ways, day trips, and the like. If you should need immediate assistance and no one seems to be around in the Lantus & Levemir ISG,
please cross-post for help on Feline Health - (The Main Forum).

    Safety comes first.
If you're unsure, always err on the side of caution!

If you're on the FDMB this weekend, take a peek at the other forums. Someone may be in need of YOUR help or support. Lend a helping hand or simply offer words of encouragement on this forum as well as the others because there's bound to be less traffic on the entire board throughout the weekend.

If you have any inkling kitty may need to see your vet over the weekend get them in while you can. Many vets have shortened hours or might even close for the long holiday weekend. Tuesday morning can feel like an eternity when kitty isn't feeling well or needs meds and visiting the ER can be very expensive! Plan ahead when possible!

Bump through Monday, May 28th, please.
Thank you! Stay safe and have a great weekend!

And today is Victoria Day in most of Canada, in celebratation of the late queen's birthday. BBQ, picnics and trips away here too.

Don't worry Americans. Canada has always been your best friend so we'll be here while you're off running over old ladies in your Hummers.
What? That's just how Canadians say "bump". Bad for our country, VERY BAD!

Absolutely! My daughter took me to high tea at a charming old converted home near Seattle. We had scones, and many other goodies, as well as delicious tea. A memorable and enjoyable experience, especially since it was in her company.

    Okay, sorry all you Canadians.
With your funny hats, igloos, no electricity and snow.
And the guy who discovered insulin, this is just too much.
    Once again, sorry.

I was just a an 11 year old kid. Our 18 year old neighbor was
    Walter Koeppe, Jr
    http://virtualwall.org/dk/KoeppeWx01a.htm
    http://sjwarmemorial.com/sons-of-san-jose

He went to Vietnam and was killed during his first year there, depriving his family of a brother and a young son.

I live in Texas, but in 2015 I was back in San Jose, Ca - and visited the Sons of San Jose memorial. A sobering reminder of the cost of freedom. May Walter (Sonny) Koeppe rest in peace.

That's really sad Jeff, he just had his 19th birthday. Cynthia's mom packed parachutes for Lancaster crews.

Yes it is sad. Their family was devastated. It was in the 1960s. The whole neighborhood knew about it. Many neighbors brought food to them to help in their time of grief.

Please, let's take care not to turn this thread into a political commentary by making judgements of any sort. The FDMB is an American message board, owned, and operated in the USA. The original post is simply a friendly reminder/a service of how and why the holiday weekend in this country may/could affect those visiting the board over the long holiday weekend.

That said, "If civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships - the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world at peace." ~ Franklin D Roosevelt

    Peace to all.
