I have read the 2012 glucometer rating on this board and that Accu-check, 6 up & up and 9 True Test are highly rated. Right now I am using a Nova Max. Is there any reason, beside the cost of the strips, that I should get a newer meter? Topaz appeared to have a hypo today, first time in 16 years and we are waiting to see the results of her blood work as three months ago it appeared she was suffering kidney failure. The vet is not sure if a hypo is the only problem. Any feedback is appreciated. ( after one hour- blood level after getting tablespoon of sucrose (thanks to info on this board) was 268 her normal high.

    No.

And that is a review for humans using human meters. We find that meters with True in the name may not do well for felines, reading glucose lower than it is. Many of us use Wal?art ReliOn Confirm or Prime.
