    Update:

I tested at +7 and I got 13.4. (241.2) So I'm hoping it's safe to go out and leave him alone? I have errands to run and this is my first test at this time.

I managed to get a +4 on Sidney the other day, but he'd only gone from 18.1 to 17.2.Today since my husband is home, we are going to try and get a +7 test. He ate at 10:45am so we figured a 1:45pm test would be good to see if we can find the nadir. I can't do a mid-cycle test tomorrow in the AMPS cycle, but I might be able to do a +4 again before bed.
Sid has today and tomorrow left on the antibiotic and honestly, I'm trying not to torture him too much. I'll feel better about doing mid-cycle tests when I'm not syringing antibiotics down his throat, the poor thing.

Seems like you are on the right track there. Must feel better now when you master it better.
