Hello. I've never participated in a forum of any kind so please pardon my ignorance. I have many questions to ask but have no idea how or where to post them

Welcome. There's lots of experienced people here who are happy to help.

This is an intro space.... Just to really say hello and maybe tell us a little about yourself and cAt. If you have specific questions about anything, head over to the main health forum and we will help you there.

Welcome to FDMB. Getting the diagnosis of diabetes with your kitty seems scary and overwhelming in the beginning. The best thing you can do is start to educate yourself on just what feline diabetes is and how the treatment process works. Some kitties are very fortunate and with a change to a proper diet and some insulin support they are able to go into remission, where they are able to be controlled with the proper diet. Others require more ongoing treatment. Home-testing is a wonderful way to make sure that your kitty stays safe and gives you the ability to see how your kitty is responding to insulin and the dose used.

has a lot of information on FD and is a good starting place. Other useful information you can add is what insulin your kitty is on and the dose and when your kitty was diagnosed. Also if there are any other health issues. Once you get more comfortable with maneuvering through the forum setting up a signature and spreadsheet is very useful information,

If you have specific questions you can start by posting on the Health forum at this link:

There is a vast community of petparents on this forum with invaluable experience that can help you make this journey a little easier for you. :bighug:
