    Good morning.
I'm new to this group and need some advice please. I'm in the UK. Alfie is 7 years old. Diagnosed September this year. 4 units ProZinc twice a day. Feeding lilys kitchen - no carb food.
Alfies refusing to eat which is really unusual. Pre shot test an hour ago was 28. Which in the US is 504. I gave his insulin even though he only had a mouth full of food. He's lethargic and let me ear prick him very easily. Which is not normal. He's currently laid on the couch. He's really not himself. Any advice would be appreciated. The vets opens in 40 minutes I will be taking him in.
    Thanks Zoe

When a cat has high numbers and not eating a concern really is DKA, diabetic ketoacidosis. You are absolutely doing the right thing by bringing him to the vet, I would advice you to be there as soon as they open since DKA is really serious. Don't want to scare you, but it is always good to rule it out!

Wow that didn't upload well !! Sorry!
Alfie is still at the vets - temp of 39 degrees so he's on fluids.
I've also requested an SDMA blood test to check his kidneys.
