    Hello everyone!

I'm owner of 14 year old diabetic Lucy! She's been diagnosed for about a year, though she's still working on getting some weight back (she lost about 7 in the two years before and after she got diagnosed). She lives with another cat Felix and fat dog Winnie, and is slowly started to hate the idea less. I thought it might be good to talk to other diabetic cat owners!

If you want to meet Lucy and see her happenings feel free to check out her Instagram @lucy_the_diabetic_cat (I know, I'm 21, it's my thing)

    Nice to be here!

    H Lauren. Welcome.
I'm glad you found us and are posting.
I consider 14 to be middle age, so she has lots of years left to thrive.
My kitty was diabetic from 9 to 20 years old, then he passed from old age.
I hope you will post often, and ask all the questions you want. We are here to help you with Lucy and her diabetes.

Thank you! I keep getting told Lucy looks like she's on death's door (despite my insisting she's as healthy as can be, just a bit thin) so I figured I should finally join a diabetes cat owner thing and get educated for myself!

Your next quest it is to post on the main Health forum. And keep posting.. as we can help you to help her.
If she's a bit thin, she may need more food as the insulin is what helps the food to be used by the body for energy. See you over there.
