What are you feeding kitty?. We recommend 10% or less carbs and canned food. Fancy feast and friskies pate foods are very reasonably priced and are what most of us use. Have you started the insulin yet?

There are places to buy things that are less expensive. I get my syringes and lancets on Adwdiabetes.com

Chewy.com has prices for vetsulin that is less then most vets.

Don't feed perscription food. Most people here feed fancy feast classic or Friskies pate foods.
