    Hello,

I'm a veterinary student conducting a research project this summer looking into factors which might predict remission of feline diabetes, such as diet, age and insulin type. I came across this site when doing some preliminary research and am so impressed by the breadth of information and helpfulness of the forum. Its definitely a resource I plan on informing my future feline diabetic clients of when I finally graduate!

Thanks all for creating this resource, I've read and continue to read many of your posts with interest. Hopefully a lot of anecdotal findings reported in communities such as these will soon be scientifically backed up! There's a lot of research in progress which will hopefully see greater control and management of feline diabetes. :) Keep up your good work!

Thank you. I am glad you find this site helpful. Just remember to include in your research that ECID (Every Cat Is Different). This means what works well in one cat, may not be the same in others.

Just to let you know - much of what we do is based on current research in feline diabetes, such as the AAHA feline diabetes guidelines, Dr Rand's research in feline diabetes (University of Queensland, Centre for Companion Animal Health), and feline nutrition specialist Dr Lisa Pierson of Cat Info.

I have not found any rhyme or reason. I have had 16 diabetic cats, all but my first I adopted already being diabetic. Only one obtained remission and that one came from a shelter with no history and was not being treated. Dulce was only on Lantus for a month
