Here are
Instructions on setting up the FDMB spreadsheet....If you have any trouble with it, please let us know and we can set it up for you.
It would be useful to put a few things into your signature too ( which you can reach by holding the mouse over your own name at the top of any page) We like to have Your name/cats name, age, sex, date of diagnosis, type of insulin, type of meter (human or pet?), type of food, any other health issues, area of the country you are in etc., it will help a lot.....And people won't have to keep asking the same questions over and over again!
When set up, the link to your spreadsheet would go into your signature too.
If you're really hoping for remission so he can be adopted as being in remission, it's important to be home testing and feeding a low carb canned or raw diet....the first 6 months after diagnosis are the most important when it comes to likelihood of remission....although it can happen at any time!
Having tests only done at the vet office aren't accurate enough because the numbers are usually going to be elevated at the vet due to the stress of being there.....then the vet see's those higher numbers and thinks the cat needs more insulin
You go home, kitty relaxes, the blood glucose comes down on it's own and you've just been told to increase....that's what can lead to a tragedy
