What an exciting day for all there! Celebrate well. I just love it when one of our kitties makes it to the Falls, such a happy time! I am sure all the kitties will be gathering to have on of their famous OTJ parties. Party on kitties!

I wanted to also thank you, Kat, for all you have brought to, and all you have done for this "community" of crazy cat people. The fundraising you've done is way, way, way above and beyond. You rock!!!

I figured with all the pics I have taken, I must have one of a waterfall... but then I remembered that the tallest thing within 50 miles of here is a sand dune, and not too many mountain rivers nearby. :lol:

So I winged it! In reality it's only about 3 feet from top to bottom, but it looks bigger in the picture!

Thank you so much, every one of you, for attending Gobbles' OTJ Party! And a huge thank you to Carolyn and her mad video skills!!! The party video is hilarious, Carolyn has captured his personality to a T, and it is so heart warming--I've watched it over and over today, and it brings tears to my eyes each time I view it. In all my wildest dreams, from his dx this past November to just yesterday, I had never, ever imagined that Gobbles would go OTJ. All the days and nights of testing, and always being so worried about him...

It's funny, since about December of last year through just last month, my DH asked me several times "is this what are life is going to be?", "There is only so much you can do for him" and "We can't go anywhere now", and he also said that "your moods are determined by his glucometer"... And each time, I told him "he's getting better!!!" and "I'm doing all this so that maybe he will quit needing insulin one day"; he said he was tired of hearing that and Gobbles just wasn't improving. One day he asked me how much money I've spent so far, and I told him I didn't keep track, but it "wasn't as much as you think" :lol: DH is a very happy man today; he even watched Gobbles' video and snickered once or twice :lol: We are going to take a short vacation; my daughter is here for the summer and she can tend my crew while we're away (I will have her test Gobbles' BG once a day and text me a picture of the glucometer).

I am so elated that Gobbles has improved in such a short time. He's back to his pre-dx weight (teetering on being too heavy--I'll keep him weighed every 5 days), has joined the CPC, has healthy LB habits and overall, a much happier camper. I started taking him outside just about a month ago and I attribute the exercise he is getting to lower BG's. Carolyn's hard work shows just how much he enjoys the outdoors!

I also want to thank everyone: Rebecca, Advisors, newbies and oldies, as I would not be typing this right now had it not been to the support, compassion, education, time and help that was given to me.

Gobbles has been offered a job from Maui The Magnificent and has eagerly accepted it; he starts work tomorrow as a Beach/Cabana Boy Assistant-In-Training (Ollie will train him). Maui said that since Gobbles obviously likes harnesses and the outdoors, he started up a new entertainment troupe called Magnificent Maui's Extraordinaire! Gobbles workwear will be a fab blue speedo and harness! And he will be swinging on the flying trapeze, performing lots of tricks!

Gobbles and I aren't going anywhere; we'll post an occasional condo, visit LL and help out at the Main Health Board. I plan on doing another fundraiser down the road, but will need to do some brainstorming first.

Ooooh Maui will be so happy to learn that Gobbles accepted her job offer and will be an official new employee! She has such a hard time getting employees and getting them to stay!

Gobbles will love his new job and performing as part of her troupe extraordinaire! wait till I tell her! And if he would like a purple speedo too, I am sure that can be arranged!

Congratulations to you both! It is such an amazing feeling to reach this point and just wait until tomorrow, when you no longer have a condo here, no longer have to give insulin, test, etc. You will get used to the new normal! Welcome to the OTJ club!
