Since my kitty has gotten more healthy, her thinning fur has started growing back. I've started having problems with the fur getting in the way of getting the blood drops the last couple days. I found a nifty trick to help.

    Nose hair trimmers.

They are like normal hair clippers, but only have 3 small shallow teeth. I used them to trim the "target area" on both her ears. Its not really close like shaving, but trims them short enough that they don't "hide" the blood drop or wick it away as much. And they aren't really loud like normal hair clippers, more of a small hum.

Another thing to try is to dab a very thin layer of vaseline on the area before pricking... it makes the blood bead better and not get lost in the fur.
