Gonna make this quick-ish because it's shot time, and he just tested 694. I don't know what amount to shoot anymore. Rocket is a very bouncy kitty... numbers ALL over the place - and has Acromegaly, so his numbers are hard to begin with. Is he bouncing? Too much insulin? Not enough? I'm so lost. Tagging a couple people off the top of my head - let me know if I should tag more. I should probably post in the PZ forum too, but it's Sat night and I don't know if I'd get any answers.
    Thanks so much.

Adding a bit since I got the first post out - he just peed, negative for ketones. He's acting fine. Still drinking water, but not any more than usual. Appetite is good. This is baffling.

Edit - he hit low blues a few days ago. Is this a bounce clearing? Any advice on whether I should shoot more than 5.5?

I'd go with the 5.5.....he's high enough for that dose

Thank you so much. :bighug: Will do. I just wish I knew if overall I'm doing the right thing here (I edited my 2nd post above to add info about hitting low blues a few days ago).

    Tagging @Wendy&Neko too.

You’re doing a great job. The acro makes dosing a bit more difficult. The lev can make that easier, and you’ll have more eyes on your situation in L forum.

I got your tag, but I have no experience with Prozinc, so I cannot suggest what to dose. People who give dose suggestions should have experience with the particular insulin when commenting. I hope you got an answer over on the Prozinc forum.

Thank you. It's been frustrating and scary at times. I'll be posting in the Lev forum later today.

Thank you Wendy, I think I tagged you from seeing you so much in the Acro forums... I was a little panicked last night. I'll actually be posting in the Lev forum later today with some questions about switching, etc. - we ordered Lev and it should be here Tuesday at the latest. :bighug:

Hello again :) I got my post up on the L/L forum, and was hoping you'd take a look. Apologies if I'm bothering you... I'm getting ready for surgery myself soon and I'm trying to figure out as much as I can before then. :nailbiting:

Ha - you beat me to it, Wendy :) Meet ya over in the LL forum. Thank you!!!

Sorry I missed the tag this morning. I hope Rocket is doing fine today.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

We took a drive in memory of Leo. It was the driving leg of the first hour of Leo's September 2016 trip for SRT - from Austin to Ft. Collins, which gets to Lampasas TX (one hour north of Austin). We talked about all of Leo's great health achievements and wonderful life. And we made a mock stop to "check up on him in the back of the car". Leo did good during the 2016 trip. It was a good trip.

Oh my gosh that is so beautiful; what a lovely tribute. I'm sure it was pretty emotional. I looked up the drive to Ft. Collins from our place yesterday, and it's about 16 hrs total - about the same length as your drive was, I think.

Rocket seems good today. I just told Linda that I get too caught up in the numbers, while my husband is always saying "But look at him! He seems fine." Opposite ends of the spectrum. :) How's Little Dude today?

No obligation whatsoever, but just FYI here's his post I just wrote with questions about switching to Levemir (hooo, that forum moves fast):

Thanks for checking up on us. :) :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That is wonderful Jeff!! I know the pain of losing him is still very fresh but little things like this can help you remember all the good times too.

Thanks. Leo still feels like he is in our lives.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

L.D. is starting to cope pretty well, and is now doing nightly sleeps with Theresa and the doglets.

Theresa asked me about all the Acro kittehs here. I gave her a detailed update on nearly all of them, including the new ones.

We have had some great SRT success stories.
Wendy's cat Neko - 5 years after first SRT
Leo lived almost 34 months after SRT.
    Bronx is doing good.
    Pig doing good
    Malachai (Malby) not successful yet.

We have had some losses, including regular diabetics like China. And Colin (no acro treatment, but well cared for).

The cabergoline and hypophysectomy patients - mixed results.
I think Sophie is doing quite well after pituitary removal.
    Shmee, not so much
Amethyst, Olive, Cricket - doing good on cabergoline

C.C. - still on insulin, we'll see about options

Acromegaly - what a cruddy disease. We are lucky there are now multiple treatment options.

Ohhh, this list is very helpful. I was reading about Shmee. Sigh. I'll have to check up on Cricket; I thought I saw a post where she wasn't doing so well lately. :(

I know. It is a terrible disease. Like you and Leo, Rocket is absolutely my heart. I just can't believe it's happening sometimes. I'm going to try to do what you have done, and document everything starting with our appointment on Wednesday. I'm sure it'll be too expensive here; we'll see. Calling Colorado tomorrow.

Glad LD is doing a bit better. :cat:

I actually met Amanda in NYC when Shmee had the hypophesectomy there. I bought her lunch and we talked about the forum and of course all the kittehs. It was just lucky, I was in Manhattan that week on business.

Documentation is good for you. Plus down the road we can help other acro kittehs on FDMB!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's what I was thinking; I've gotten so much help and support here already. It would be nice to try to give some back someday.
