Jester's been off the antibiotics for over a week now and the vet looked him over on Monday.

He hadn't gained anything, but hadn't lost either.

Now his appetite is back almost with a vengeance.

Seriously, he ate a 5.5 ounce can of Friskies this morning, then finished off the rest of Sage's food too.

Last night he ate one can, then nearly another 1/3's worth of another can - with a grand total of over 2.5 cans for the entire day.

Is a big appetite normal after pancreatitis?

Vet did two blood tests in two weeks - one in-house test and the other a more formal test that was done by a lab. Not sure if the second test checked for thyroid but the first one did.

Vet also said he can't feel that Jester's thyroid is swollen so he doesn't think that's an issue.

Nothing about pancreatitis is normal. ECID applies. Every episode isn’t the same either. Why was he getting an antibiotic? It’s not usually given for pancreatitis. Was there an infection? Maybe the antibiotic effected his appetite and now he’s making out for it now. The test sent out was likely to check for pancreatitis.
