Puma is officially off insulin... his last dose was 0.5 U PZI on 7/18.
Our 4 year old Manx cat was diagnosed 7/3. With the help of this community, his life was saved and his diabetes placed in check. Start low, go slow, and switching from dry food to Fancy Feast has done it.
No help from the vet, I'm afraid. Maybe we were just unlucky, but our vet's recommendations and desire to do everything at the vet would have risked either prolonged illness or hypo.

    Thank you so much, everyone!
I know that it's a remission, not a cure. We'll continue to pay close attention to his weight, his food, his behavior, and will check occasional BG.
