Exactly how long after feeding Victor should we give him his insulin shot? Our vet told us to give him his shot right after he gets done eating, but it says on the Humulin sticky thread that you should wait an hour after feeding to give them the shot.

Since Victor doesn't eat all of his food in one sitting, we usually wait until after he's finished most of it and then give him his shot probably around ten to twenty minutes later. Is this okay or should we start waiting an hour after he finishes eating to give him his shot? Will he be okay if we do start waiting the hour? Please answer.

We usually suggest waiting 20-30 minutes between feeding/shooting so the food has had time to get into the bloodstream before the insulin kicks in

My get always told me to be sure to give the insulin no more than 30 - 40 minutes after my kitty has eaten the bulk of the food.
