A friend had Tramadol transdermal prescribed for one of her cats for pain. I know that Tramadol can come in a pill also. Has anyone used the pill version? How does the cost of the pills compare to the transdermal method?

I have used the pills (1/4 of a 50 mg pill). I put them in a gelcaps since it is very bitter. Some cats do not tolerate tramadol well and get loopy. I have never experienced that.
The pills are very sheep. See: https://www.goodrx.com/tramadol
The transdermal would be more expensive and I would expect a relatively short expiration date.
