Question on Creatine Kinase Blood Test Results

    Since we lost Buddy, we decided to do an extensive blood test on his 13 year old sister, Addie May, who apparently enjoys feather boas.

    All the results were perfect except one. Her creatine kinase blood result was 1730. Her Vet of 13 years told us 440 was normal. When we questioned her about the one high reading, she said she was not concerned about it since all other results were perfectly in range. (If there had been other out of spec results, she would have been concerned.) She indicated the high creatine kinase could have been from activity before the testing.

    We would appreciate your thoughts and feedback on this test and the Vet's comments.

    I just looked up elevated creatine kinase....
    this reference for humans...
    and look at the creatine part from this page for cat info.

    from the second reference, I can see why she isn't necessarily concerned.
