Hi, was wodering if I should give Whiskers his insulin tonight. his reading is 202. he is currently on 1.75 units. 2 days ago his reading was 205 and I did not give him his insulin and the next morning his reading was so high, it did not read on the relion meter.

Not trying to be rude, but why wouldn't you give him his insulin?

I don't remember under what number we would hold off on giving them insulin.

I'd give it. Look what happened last time you didn't give it. Test about 2 hours after dose to see what the numbers look like. It looks like you have enough data to not worry about shooting a number like that.

That's what I was thinking, don't want him to go that hi again.
    Thanks.

this is what the protocol says:
    • Above 200 (11.1 mmol/L) but below the cat's normal pre-shot value, a reduced dose might be wise.
Is kitty eating? If so is stick with normal dose.
