I'm using lantus on my 12 year old diabetic cat (healthy otherwise). I'm doing the TR.
He is now on low carb wet diet which has dramatically changed his BGs. Yay!
I had a look at the sticky on dose reduction. Do I only reduce his dose if he goes under 2.8mmol? He is +11 now and is 4.2 (at +9 he was 4.4) so he is still dropping.
I'm just not sure if I only reduce the dose if he drops under 2.8? Or any other reason to drop dose?

With tight regulation, there are two ways to earn a dose reduction. The first is going below 50 (2.8) if your cat has been diabetic less than a year. The second is by spending a week in largely normal numbers, ie. mostly green on the SS or under 5.6.
