My trip to the vet for Pee-Buddy (Simba) blood test/BG and comparison of my Reli-on Prime Human glucose meter versus the Vets Animal meter. Vet 305. Reli-on Prime 232. Blood test via lab digital = BG of 257. My Prime was "more" accurate at reading 25 lower versus the Vet's machine was 48 higher reading. Just sayin. :^)

What did your vet have to say about you continuing to use the Prime?

Nothing. Especially in light of his being further off then mine..... ;)
I posted this mostly for those thinking they "needed" a specialty expensive animal meter. :^)

Sounds like something may be up with your vets animal meter or strips. Mia's lab glucose results have never been that far off from my AlphaTrak2 readings, and I read the results of a study done with various meters compared to Antech lab results, and the AT was within 1%.

Not saying it isn't just fine to use human meter, just saying those results sound a little suspicious/wonky to me.

Does anyone know if the Relion Confirm meter can use Relion Confirm Plus test strips? I'm new to cat diabetes!!!

Was the vet's blood draw taken at the same time as the vets hand-held meter and your meter?
Ideally, you want the use the same drop of blood for the hand-held meters.

I was not allowed in the back when it was done.
It was done at exactly the same moment in time. That is what is most important.

Yes but WalMart recently discontinued the Confirm so finding strips is almost impossible.

You can buy the strips for the Glucocard01 Sensor from ADW though....it's the exact same meter as the Confirm

My vets lab machine read 137 and my meter read 101 when they tested at the same time. I figured it was about 30 points off.
