Leo has been in remission for a while now but is in the high end of normal. (specialist considers him a pre diabetic since he had that transient episode). He is having a dental cleaning today (no extractions) along with a skin lesion removal. Should I be concerned if his BG does go up due to the stress etc. temporarily and do you think it would be prudent to test him frequently for a few days after when I bring him home? Right now I'm only testing every couple weeks as he has stayed in the normal range even while tested at the vets.

My little guy is not in remission so I can't comment on that part, but he did have a dental a couple days ago so I have a little experience. Radar's BG did go up due to the stress of being at the vet's office. I would not be concerned about fluctuations in BG levels right now but I would want to be informed about what his levels are so I could take action if I needed to.

Sending good vetty visit and healing vines to you and your kitty.

My cat had a dental on the 21st. She is in remission.... Since then her bg has been at the high end of normal or a little above. I'm keeping a close eye on it hoping it goes back down. :nailbiting:

Since he's having a lesion taken off his one ear that has been bothering him I hate to even test him at this point. I'm sure he won't want either ear bothered with right now. Poor guy- he sure has had a lot of tests and procedures done this year. If he could talk he would probably tell me to leave him alone for awhile. I sure wish there was an easier way to test their glucose. Some kind of automatic digital reading that didn't need to have the skin pierced. Ha I'm dreaming up things now- waiting for the vet to phone.
