The vet wants to give Ebby a mild Sedative to re-examine her teeth. (She's been making a grinding sound on the side a tooth was pulled a few weeks ago) He said it would be an injection, and he might give her a little gas if needed. Just wondered if there are any that are considered safer to use, or anything I need to stay away from.

I'm asking because I was not previously aware of the Convenia dangers, and she was given that after her dental....so just trying to be better informed this time.

I know my cats have been given Dormitor with no adverse reactions at all. Just be aware that one of the side effects is increased blood glucose, so you would have to take any BG readings before sedation to be accurate. Aside form that, they tolerate it well, it wears off nicely (or with a shot of Antisedan), and no worse for wear.
