    I need a good place that sells this type of syringe:

    1/2 mLcc
    8mm (5/16")
    31G

    However... I would like to get the ones that have the 1/2 markings on them as well as the unit markings. I prefer the short needle as it doesn't hurt Blackie as much as the longer, thicker ones. I'm spoiled with the short needles.

    Does anyone know where I can get these, please?

    Thank you in advance.

    You will not fine a 1/2 cc/ml capacity insulin syringe with 1/2 unit markings. You can find 3/10 cc/ml capacity syringes with 1/2 unit markings. Some are available in 31 G in the short (5/16/8ml length). Here is one:

    Those ore the gold standard, BD syringes. Sometimes you can find a less expensive brand. Try looking further at Hock (see the advertisement on each page of t FDMB).

    Why do you need 1/2cc capacity.

    3/10cc capacity is usually very adequate for diabetic cats.

    3/10 cc syringes hold up to 30 units of U-100 insulin or up to 12 units of U-40 insulin.
    1/2cc syringes hold up to 50 units of U-100 insulin or up to 20 units of U-40 insulin.

    Do you have a high-dose cat ?

    Angela, I ordered these from Hocks, they worked fine for me. http://hocks.com/hocks-healthcare/hocks ... 82316.html

    I have since switched to Relion (Walmart) syringes, they are actually even less expensive, under $13, and they have the 1/2 unit markings...3/10cc, 31 gauge 5/16" needles. Not sure if you need a prescription in TX, we do in NY.

    I think you want the 3/10cc syringes, not 1/2cc.

    We went to one of the Walmarts around us, and they didn't have those particular ones in stock. Sorry... I'm not familiar with the "cc" terminology.

    I'll phone another Walmart or 2 around here, and double check. I may contact the one that we went to today and double check with them, too. I KNOW that it's the Relion ones.

    Umm.. You may want to skip my PM then. LOL Sorry about that.

    cc is just the same as ml.

    cc = cubic centimeter
    ml = milliliter

    They are the same measurement.

    It just means the liquid capacity of the syringe.

    A .5 ml (cc) syringe holds more liquid volume than a .3 ml (cc) syringe.

    3/10 cc = 0.3 ml = 30 units
    1/2 cc = 0.5 ml = 50 units
    1 cc - 1 ml - 100 units

    Only 3/10 cc insulin syringes are available with half unit markings.

    Most pharmacies should be able to order the insulin syringes if they do not have it in stock. Just make sure that they order the ones you want. Sometimes the pharmacist will insist that there are no such things as half unit marked insulin syringes :roll:
