Can you note that he had his regular LC dinner in his spreadsheet too, this is good data - seems like HC might last a bit longer than 2 hours on Thabbo, although it may just have been the quantity he got - we'll find out as time goes on!

Also some kitties can come up ok with LC but it looks like Thabbo is not going to be one of those. I'm quite amazed he dropped back so far straight after a meal and getting towards the later part of the cycle.

that's why I gave some kibble, the one time I HAD to leave him alone for a while when he had low numbers on vetsulin ... I hoped it would kick in a little later and stay with him a little while ... not sure if those are the right ideas?? you think that this might be an option that could give me some sleep tonight??

... but then vetsulin wears off much faster as well ...

 

You did have the right idea but hopefully we can avoid it, there's also still the problem of not knowing how long the dry would last anyway. Hopefully this lot of carbs at this end of the cycle will be enough but if he still drops back again in a couple of hours maybe that will be the way to go since you can't nap.

 

Typically, kibble takes longer to work and stays in the system longer, so yes, you had it right. We really discourage it's use, but I agree with Serryn. If you just can't stay up any longer, it is an option.

Good. Last thing before you call it a night, slather it all over his ears. You can wipe it off in the morning and it will really help. Is it the kind with pain relief?

I don't trust your fella at all not to drop back down. If you really need to sleep (and I'd say you probably do you must be pretty exhausted) then I think kibble is the only option for tonight (I can't believe I just said that dirty word LOL). Unless he starts skyrocketing to show he's bounced I wouldn't trust him for at least 2 1/2 hours after carbs based on his amazing performance tonight.
