PMPS was 10.0. Gave him the same dose - 2.65 u.

 

AMPS was 24.1. Sigh ... gave him 2.7 u.

 

He doesn't want you to get complacent, but would like to stay the center of your universe.

 

BG at +5 was 20.6.

 

PMPS was 17.9. I gave him 2.7 u. He's stuck so I'll stay with the regular tiny increases.

 

AMPS was 10.9. Enjoying this nice blue moment. I gave 2.7 u again.

 

BG at +5 was 12.0. Weird.

Anyway a blue number for Teasel today. I'm sure that BG will come down at PMPS.

 

PMPS was 18.5. I let out a bit too much insulin from the syringe so his dose was more like 2.65 u tonight.

 

AMPS was 22.7. I upped his dose to 2.8 u this AM. Trying to balance his bouncing with his readiness to get stuck if his numbers are high too long is tricky.

BG at +6 was 17.4. Keep on keeping on.

 

PMPS was 23.1. I gave him 2.8 u.

 

AMPS was 26.7. I gave him 2.8 u again. I'm wondering whether this is bouncing from too many dose changes (by Teasel standards) or whether my ProZinc is losing it's potency. I opened this vial on Dec. 13/17 and have about 1/4 of it left. Still considering the Lantus experiment and this might be the time to go there.

 

Well, it would break my heart, but maybe you would still post here? You are needed here and Lantus has lots of advice givers. And you give such good advice!

But I can see your point - especially as you can get Lantus without a prescription in Canada. Do they give small "starter vials" so you could try it out for a few days? Now that you have such a good handle on what makes him tick (and explode) you might be able to maneuver around his challenges with Lantus.

 

Sue, I'd be going nowhere!!! I roam all over the different forums reading and learning and helping where I can. This forum is my home! I'm waiting to see what advice the Lantus pros give me especially wrt starting dose but I'd probably be more of an "independent" like Linda, @MrWorfMen's Mom. We march to our own drummer, Teasel and I.

Doing a curve of sorts today to see what's going on. I'll update my SS regularly.

 

PMPS was 16.6. Well, it's a curve although an underwhelming one. I can't tell if the dose is too low or my insulin is losing its oomph. I gave him 2.8 u again.

 

AMPS was 24.7. I upped his dose to 3 u this AM. I think this vial of insulin has lost potency. The curve yesterday showed that he came down but it looks like the dose is too low or the insulin is on its way out. Very hard to tell with Teasel.

 

Yep, you can definitely try Lantus...but don't abandon us here!

PMPS was 13.8. Will give 3 u again. Not much testing today - his ears needed a break after yesterday's curve.

 

AMPS was 18.2. Gave him 3 u.

 

BG at +6.5 was 6.9.
PMPS was 8.2. Stalled 37 min and it came up to 9.6. Debated giving 3 u again tonight but chickened out and reduced to 2.8 u.
