Hi everybody. Tori started limping the other night so seeing I was taking the boys in for their checkups yesterday I decided to take Tori in as well. The good thing was no fracture- probably just a muscle strain . The bad news is that while the vet was examining her he found 2 little lumps, one on each of her throat where her trachea is. His eyes kind of popped when he found them. They weren't there a month ago when she was in hospital with a bad Pancreatitis flare. He doesn't think they are lymph nodes . He took an aspirate from the larger one of the two. The fluid was very slightly yellow tinged. He has sent it to the lab to be checked out. I'm scared to death. Whenever any doctor mentions cells to pathology a red light goes off in my head. Why didn't I see them? That was so not what I was expecting from yesterday's appointment. She isn't having any trouble breathing or anything like that and in fact she looks fantastic the last couple of weeks.

So now we wait to see what is going on. I doubt we'll get the results today , probably on Monday I would think. It's going to be a long weekend for sure. Of course my imagination has been running wild. What will we do if the news is bad? I doubt surgery would be an option because of the location. The area must be very vascular. Besides I'm pretty sure there is no one in Edmonton who would be able to do it. We don't even have an Internal Medicine specialist any more that I know of.

Anyway I've got to try and stay positive right? Please keep my little girl in your thoughts and prayers.

and yes, stay positive, as hard as it may be.
hopefully, someone with more experience will give you more insight as to what's going on.

    Barb,
Can you call and ask when you can expect the results? The results may be back but just sitting in a file so if you call, you can find out before the weekend.
I do that all the time - I go down to the vets (around the corner) and ask them to check if the results are in yet.
If they are not in, maybe you can ask how long they will take.
I hope the best for you and Tori.

They might just be cysts--I'd hold off worrying till you get results. Keep us posted!
