I am giving skittles 1.5 U using a U40 syringe . How many units do I give him using a U100 syringe ( for 1.5 units) ? I looked at the conversion chart ,but I just need to double check with everybody before I actually do it .For some reason I'm so nervous and second guessing myself .

When using a U100 syringe for a U40 insulin the dose is 2.5 times as much. So a dose of 1.5 units with a U40 syringe would be about 3.5 units with a U100 syringe. According to the conversion chart 3.5 units of U40 insulin on a U100 syringe would actually be equal to 1.4 units on a U40 syringe, so that is very close to where you want to be.

You would pull to the line for 3.5.

That will give you 1.4u of prozinc which is a little less, but close enough.
