    Hi all,
Skinky and her mom joined the forum a few days ago. Their thread is on the introductions board, so I don't know whether or not many people have seen it. Here's the link:

New Sugar Momma with Diabetic Cat Who Has Swollen Face

Skinky has a swelling on one side of her nose (may be a tumor or a fungal infection) and has eaten very little over the last few days. Her mom is extremely worried and has been trying to syringe feed, but Skinky has only managed to eat very little.

Skinky's mom is having a very difficult time getting the right veterinary support, and has restricted funds. She had to wait for days to get an Rx for an appy stimulant and is also having difficulty getting firm diagnostic info. Skinky did start on cyproheptadine today, and seems to be more interested in food (e.g. vocalising when mom is near fridge) but she doesn't get very far when presented with food.

I don't know anything about syringe feeding, or helping a cat with problems around the mouth/nose area to eat. Skinky is a very sweet-natured cat, and she's a fighter too. If you can offer any suggestions, please can you visit Skinky's thread to see if there's something you might be able to do to help Skinky and her mom - syringe feeding tips; anything. Alternatively, if you know an FDMB member that might be able to help, please can you let them know about Skinky's plight. Thank you.
