? Vacation Dose ?

We will be gone overnight on Saturday and my dad is going to come over and give Turner his Saturday PM and Sunday AM doses of insulin. I was thinking just hold steady on the dose and that should be ok since we're away for such a short time, but started to doubt that. I think it would be ok? Or should we drop it a little? Or even drop it a little tomorrow (a day early) to drain the depot a little?

If not, I'd probably drop it just a bit to like 5.5....better too high for a day than too low for a moment

Make sure you leave a "sample syringe" out for him to compare to!

 

He is not going to be testing. Do I just drop for the 2 doses he's giving? Or do I drop in advance?

 

You should reduce at least 2 cycles in advance because of the depot.

 

Taking him back to 5.5 seems sensible seeing as your dad won't be testing, as Carla said take the dose down a couple of cycles before you leave. When you coem home you can go straight back up to the 6u.
