Food batches change a little from time to time, particularly in the fall when a lot of slaughter is done. I had problems with Wellness one fall, Mel (Momma of Muse) had problems with Friskies, so it can happen to any level of food.

Products are marked with codes to indicate where they were made and when. Tracking that can help you identify a problem batch.

If you identify a food problem, you can report it to the FDA. And if you tell the manufacturer, they may be able to correct the problem more quickly. When I notified Wellness, they sent me couponc for a free case ... but I waited until the batch codes were clearly different!
