A week after a dental cleaning and 2 vaccines, which i was hesitant about, Killa became very sick with elevated white blood count and blood sugar :( Killa has been on 1 unit of Lantus for the past week and seems to be doing okay but wanted to see if anyone has any advice on how to improve what I am doing since its been a few years since i have had to deal with all of this.
    Here are today's numbers. AMPS 176 (1 unit), +2 120, +4 112, +6 112, +8 140, +10 138, PMPS 133 (hold)
If I'm giving 1 unit in the AM and his numbers are below 149 in the PM for the past 6 days should i give .5 unit at night?
    Thank you!

I'm sorry Killa got sick and you had to go back on Lantus. I hope Killa is doing better now. It's best to keep the AM and PM dose consistent because of the depot. If you are constantly changing the dose, the depot has to keep adjusting and you won't be able to tell how low the dose is taking him.
